Free Webinar: Workplace Behaviour: the changing landscape

March 2, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEDT

The Respect@Work amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act are now law.

The amendments impose a positive duty on employers to take reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate sexual harassment and hostile work environment, as far as possible, in the workplace.

The Respect@Work amendments are emblematic of the evolving responsibilities of employers to manage workplace behaviour and protect employees. They place a new emphasis on employers preventing harm in the workplace.

Training and other steps

It is essential that employers deliver appropriate workplace conduct training and education to employees to support meeting the new requirements.   Please see our article (here) for a discussion on the benefits of training staff.

There are other steps employers should take to meet the new requirements.

Employer duties

In this free webinar, GRC Solutions’ Phil Haultain canvassed the new requirements for assuring safe workplaces, and some steps employers can take to satisfy those requirements.
